Flat back
The text block is not rounded or backed; the spine is flat and the boards sit flush. Simpler to make, it suits thin books and modern design but puts more strain on the first and last sections.
A demonstration: the craft terms are real, the site is invented. Built by plinth from EDN and Markdown; every page is complete without scripts.
